Dorset Canoeing Adventure Trip | Experiences | Poole Harbour

Book Now!

New for 2021 and reworked for 2022, we have re imagined some old classic activities and put a special twist on them! We were also keen to run more canoeing sessions, so we thought what better way to do that then by launching our new Canoeing Adventure Trips.

These trips make for the perfect family Adventure day! Prices are based per Canoe, each Canoe is big enough for two parents and one or two little ones. Depending on how big your little ones are, one or two canoes is more then enough for your family. We also offer the option to book out our fleet of six Canoes to yourselves so you can bring along the extended family for a family only adventure!

Meet your Instructor at lake pier for 10:00am, load up your boats and launch away into the harbour. You’ll paddle along towards Rockley Park, then across to the RSPB reserve and SSSI at Arne. You’ll continue along the sandy beaches of Arne and round into Arne bay. Your Instructor will guide you round some of the small bays, stopping on a beach for a picnic lunch. After lunch you’ll do some more exploring before heading back to the beach at Lake Pier. Bringing an end to your day of adventure.

What You've Said

Big thank you to Kelvin for our kayaking lesson last week. Whilst the session was great fun (yes even the indelicate attempts practising getting back on our kayaks in deep water), Kelvin was really knowledgeable regarding safety and gave us a lot of tips and practical guidance to help keep us safe on the water. Looking forward to another session soon.

We went kayaking with a fella named Chris. He was awesome and a great tour guide. Very patient with us and gave us plenty of photo opps (gotta do it for the gram y’all) but really let us appreciate the view.

If you’re looking for a great place to kayak and want a fab tour guide who is patient but also a great instructor we’d def recommend him and will be coming back.

What do I need to bring?

You'll need to bring a pair of shoes and spare clothes to wear on the water..

Don't forget to bring your picnic lunch as well!

We suggest you also bring a towel and water bottle, you may also wish to bring a waterproof/windproof to take with you on the water.

Contact lenses - If you can get away with not wearing them, that’s best. If you do need them to see, be sure to have a spare pair to put in after your session.

Do I need any Canoeing experience?

Not really no!

All our Canoeing trips are aimed at being family friendly, for everyone to enjoy!

Do I need to be a good swimmer?

You will be wearing a Buoyancy Aid at all times when in the water, but it does helps if you're confident in the water. If you are unable to swim you can still take part, however you may struggle with participating in certain aspects of the activity.

What are the times of your sessions?

We are open 7 days a week, if there is no time slot available that suits you, contact us at info@jurassicwatersports.co.uk and we will see if we can accommodate.

Session times are:

10:00 - 14:00

Is there a minimum and maximum group size?

There are no strict minimum or maximum number rules, however we not be able to run sessions that are not cost effective. Group sizes can vary, but where possible we try to split groups down into smaller groups of 4-5 Canoes per Instructor.

Want a smaller group? Why not book a private session?

What if it's raining?

You're already getting wet right? What's a bit of rain between Adventures? We try our best not to cancel any sessions but sometimes the grate British weather has other ideas! If a session is cancelled by us we will look at rescheduling you in when convenient for you.

Is there a minimum age?

This is a physically demanding Adventurous Activity. However, these sessions are for all the family, we suggest kids of ages 8+ would get the most out of the experience, however, as long as the little ones fit in a Buoyancy Aid, they can come along! We do ask that you bring at least 1 adult for every 1-2 under 16s.
