Our friendly and qualified instructors will meet you at Swanage Pier. You'll paddle along the Jurassic Coast and have the opportunity to see Old Harry Rocks from a truly unique perspective, which is something you can tick off your bucket list. We'll tuck into a BBQ, have some drinks on the beach and enjoy some good old fashion BBQ food. After all, who doesn’t love a good BBQ?
Old Harry Rocks is a Chalk headland formation located at Handfast Point, on the Isle of Purbeck. A UNESCO world heritage site, with the famous 'Old Harry' Sea Stack sat at its eastern most point. The history of the site is somewhat disputed. Some say the rocks were names after a local pirate, 'Harry Peye', but some say they actually get their name from a nickname for the Devil. However, one thing that's defiantly not disputed is that it is a awesome site to see....especially from the truly unique point of view of a Kayak!
We will supply you with nothing but top quality equipment, including:
- Feel Free Sit-On-Top Kayaks & Paddles (Usually Doubles)
- Custom made Peak UK Buoyancy Aids
- If you think you might want a Wetsuit, make sure to arrange this with us in advance.
As well as Experienced Instructors and an awesome time
A lunchtime BBQ:
- Burgers
- Sausages
- Bread rolls
- Crisps
- Fizzy Drinks
- Condiments (Ketchup, Cheese, ETC...)

Our Jurassic Coast & Old Harry Rocks Kayak BBQ Experiences last for approximately three and a half hours. This includes at least two hours of paddling. With the remaining time split between having BBQ exploring the Rocks, taking photos and Exploring other parts of the coastline.

A pair of shoes to wear in the water, and wear something you don't mind getting wet....we don't plan on getting "that" wet....but its best to be prepared!
We suggest you also bring a towel and water bottle, you may also wish to bring a waterproof/windproof to take with you on the water.
Contact lenses - If you can get away with not wearing them, that’s best. If you do need them to see, be sure to have a spare pair to put in after your session.
You will be wearing a Buoyancy Aid at all times when in the water, but it does helps if you're confident in the water.
For any of our 3 hour+ trips we do suggest you have some experience of Kayaking. If you've never been Kayaking before, take a look at our Taster Sessions first.
We are open 7 days a week, if there is no time slot available that suits you, contact us at info@jurassicwatersports.co.ukand we will see if we can accommodate.
Session times are:
13:00 - 16:30
There are no strict minimum or maximum number rules, however we not be able to run sessions that are not cost effective. Group sizes can vary, but where possible we try to split groups down into smaller groups of up to 10 per Instructor.
Want a smaller group? Why not book a private session?
You're already getting wet right? What's a bit of rain between Adventures? We try our best not to cancel any sessions but sometimes the grate British weather has other ideas! If a session is cancelled by us we will look at rescheduling you in when convenient for you.
Kayaking is a physically demanding Adventurous Activity. For our open sessions we ask all participants are over the age of 12.
We are however sometimes able to offer sessions for participants between the ages of 8 - 12. If you would like to book for child aged between 8 - 12, please get I touch with us and we will see what we can arrange!
Alternatively, you can always book a private session for you and your family.
