COASTEERING & CLIMBING EXPERIENCE DAY - Open Experiences
Although open experiences are rare for these experience days, we do offer them on occasion. Open sessions have always been at the heart of our activities at Jurassic Watersports. We offer session dates with up to 8 spaces, allowing individuals, couples, friends, and families to book the spots they need and be joined together as a group. This format is ideal for small groups (1-4 people) who would find private sessions costly. If you need more flexibility with dates, consider our Private Sessions.
Open sessions typically include 4-8 people, aged 14+.

PRIVATE COASTEERING & CLIMBING EXPERIENCE DAY BOOKING
Our Private sessions offer the chance to enjoy our activities exclusively with your friends and family, ideal for family groups and stag & hen parties. To simplify payments, we require a £100 deposit at booking to secure your session. We will confirm final numbers closer to the date and charge the outstanding balance then. Please do remember the minimum charge is £600 for a Private Session. Private sessions also provide greater flexibility with dates.

A private experience at Jurassic Watersports offers a personalised experience for you and your friends or family, with only your group participating. This is especially popular for families and stag/hen groups. It also provides greater flexibility regarding available sessions. Perfect if you are struggling to find the session you want, or if you want to ensure a more tailored, exclusive adventure!
For coasteering at Dancing Ledge, there are no dedicated changing rooms or toilets at the meeting point. You'll meet the team in the car park, where you'll change into wetsuits in your car. It’s recommended to arrive in your swimming costume, and don’t forget your towel. The National Trust occasionally places portable toilets in the car park, but it’s best to assume there won't be any. The nearest toilets are at Putlake Farm, just up the road.
For your coasteering session, bring shoes with laces to wear in the water (you will not be able to take part if you arrive without proper footwear!), a swimming costume to wear under your wetsuit, a towel, and a water bottle. You may also want to bring a rash vest or t-shirt for extra comfort. If you wear contact lenses, it’s best to have a spare pair available to put in after your session.
For your Climbing session, bring solid shoes with good grip and. (you will not be able to take part if you arrive without proper footwear!) We suggest you also bring a water bottle and waterproofs/warm clothing where appropriate.

You will be wearing a Buoyancy Aid at all times during coasteering, but being confident in the water helps. While non-swimmers can still participate in certain parts, some parts of the activity might be more challenging. For full details on the activity requirements, be sure to check the ‘Joining Instructions’, or contact our team for a chat.
For climbing:
You'll have a qualified instructor to teach you everything you need to know and "show you the ropes" (pun intended!). We recommend a basic level of physical fitness to ensure you can fully enjoy the session. No prior climbing experience is required, so come ready to learn and have fun!
Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive an automatic email with instructions. If you don’t see it, check your spam/junk folder. If you still can’t find it, contact us at info@jurassicwatersports.co.uk, and we’ll resend it. Technology can be tricky sometimes!
Jurassic Watersports is open 7 days a week. If the available session times don't work for you, please contact the team on info@jurassicwatersports.co.uk and we will see what we can do for you.
These are full day experiences, times are usually:

While we try to avoid cancellations, we understand that the weather can sometimes be unpredictable. If a session is cancelled due to weather, we will work with you to reschedule at a time that's convenient for you. On wet days when we can't climb, we try to offer wet alternatives such as Coasteering!
Coasteering & Climbing are physically demanding, and for open sessions, participants need to be at least 14 years old. However, we can arrange sessions for children aged 8-14 without issue, we just need you to get in touch first. We also require a minimum height of 138cm (4'6").
Jurassic Watersports is fully licensed by the HSE (AALA) to work with under-18s. For further details, please reach out to us directly.
