Our expert instructors will have you paddling confidently in no time!
Even if you've tried SUP before but struggled, don't worry. With the ever growing popularity of SUP, there is an ever growing number of low quality and low performance boards hitting the market. For some people, this wont make any difference, but for a lot of people, the wrong board makes so much difference! We use high-quality 10’10 boards from the well respected brand Tiki, which maximise stability and buoyancy, making it easier to enjoy the sport.

PADDLEBOARDING TASTER SESSION - Open Sessions
Open sessions have always been at the heart of our activities at Jurassic Watersports. We offer session dates with 10 spaces, allowing individuals, couples, friends, and families to book the spots they need and be joined together as a group. This format is ideal for small groups (1-4 people) who would find private sessions costly. While many providers have reduced or stopped offering this style of session, we remain committed to them, making our experiences more accessible. If you need more flexibility with dates, consider our Private Sessions.
Open sessions typically include 6-10 people, aged 14+.

Our Private sessions offer the chance to enjoy our activities exclusively with your friends and family, ideal for family groups and stag & hen parties. To simplify payments, we require a £100 deposit at booking to secure your session. With the outstanding balance due closer to the time of your session. Please do remember these Private Sessions are charged at £200 per group of 10. To book for more than 10, please contact our team. Private sessions also provide greater flexibility with dates.

A private session at Jurassic Watersports offers a personalised experience for you and your friends or family, with only your group participating. This is especially popular for families and stag/hen groups. It also provides greater flexibility regarding available sessions. Perfect if you are struggling to find the session you want, or if you want to ensure a more tailored, exclusive adventure!
All our paddlesport activities are now based at Knoll Beach in Studland. The National Trust site provides toilets and a café, but we recommend arriving ready to go, as it's a bit of a walk to the facilities if you need to change.
Bring shoes to wear in the water, clothes you don’t mind getting wet, a towel, and a water bottle. If you wear contact lenses, it’s best to have a spare pair available to put in after your session. We also suggest you bring a waterproof jacket or windproof to keep the wind off.

You will be wearing a Buoyancy Aid at all times during coasteering, but being confident in the water helps. While non-swimmers can still participate in certain parts, some parts of the activity might be more challenging. Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive an automatic email with instructions. If you don’t see it, check your spam/junk folder. If you still can’t find it, contact us atinfo@jurassicwatersports.co.uk, and we’ll resend it. Technology can be tricky sometimes!

Taster Session times are:
10:00 - 11:00, 11:30 - 12:30, 13:30 - 14:30, 15:00 - 16:00
Group sizes can vary, but typically, we aim for a smaller group of up to around 8 people. There are no strict minimum or maximum numbers, but sessions must remain cost-effective. (ie, we do need enough interest to make the session worthwhile.)
If you're looking for a smaller group, consider booking a Private Session for more tailored experiences.
While we try to avoid cancellations, we understand that the weather can sometimes be unpredictable. If a session is cancelled due to weather, we will work with you to reschedule at a time that's convenient for you. Remember, a bit of rain shouldn't spoil the adventure but 40mph winds just might!
Kayaking is physically demanding, and for open sessions, participants need to be at least 14 years old. However, we can arrange sessions for children aged 8-14 without issue, we just need you to get in touch first. We also require a minimum height of 138cm (4'6").
Jurassic Watersports is fully licensed by the HSE (AALA) to work with under-18s. For further details, please reach out to us directly.
