COASTEERING & CLIMBING EXPERIENCE DAY - Open Experiences
Open experiences are at the heart of our Coasteering and Climbing days at Jurassic Watersports. While less common for these experience days, we do offer open sessions on select dates. With up to 8 spaces per session, individuals, couples, friends, and families can book the spots they need and join together as a small group. This format is perfect for small groups (1–4 people) who want an affordable way to enjoy the experience without booking privately.
If you need more flexibility with dates or prefer a fully tailored experience, check out our Private Sessions.
Open sessions typically include 4-8 people, aged 14+.

Our Private Coasteering and Climbing sessions give you the chance to enjoy an exclusive adventure with your friends or family, making them perfect for family groups, stag & hen parties, or special occasions..
Private sessions offer greater flexibility with dates and a more tailored experience, designed to suit your group and skill level. A Private Session at Jurassic Watersports gives you and your group a personalised adventure, with only your friends or family participating. Perfect for families and stag/hen groups, these sessions also offer greater flexibility with dates. Ideal if you want a tailored, exclusive experience or can’t find an open session that suits your schedule!
For coasteering at Dancing Ledge, there are no dedicated changing rooms or toilets at the meeting point. You'll meet the team in the car park, where you'll change into wetsuits in your car. It’s recommended to arrive in your swimming costume, and don’t forget your towel. The National Trust occasionally places portable toilets in the car park, but it’s best to assume there won't be any. The nearest toilets are at Putlake Farm, just up the road.
For your coasteering session, bring shoes with laces to wear in the water (you will not be able to take part if you arrive without proper footwear!), a swimming costume to wear under your wetsuit, a towel, and a water bottle. You may also want to bring a rash vest or t-shirt for extra comfort. If you wear contact lenses, it’s best to have a spare pair available to put in after your session.
For your Climbing session, bring solid shoes with good grip and. (you will not be able to take part if you arrive without proper footwear!) We suggest you also bring a water bottle and waterproofs/warm clothing where appropriate.

You will be wearing a Buoyancy Aid at all times during coasteering, but being confident in the water helps. While non-swimmers can still participate in certain parts, some parts of the activity might be more challenging. For full details on the activity requirements, be sure to check the ‘Joining Instructions’, or contact our team for a chat.
For climbing:
You'll have a qualified instructor to teach you everything you need to know and "show you the ropes" (pun intended!). We recommend a basic level of physical fitness to ensure you can fully enjoy the session. No prior climbing experience is required, so come ready to learn and have fun!
Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive an automatic email with instructions. If you don’t see it, check your spam/junk folder. If you still can’t find it, contact us at info@jurassicwatersports.co.uk, and we’ll resend it. Technology can be tricky sometimes!
Jurassic Watersports is open 7 days a week. If the available session times don't work for you, please contact the team on info@jurassicwatersports.co.uk and we will see what we can do for you.

While we try to avoid cancellations, we understand that the weather can sometimes be unpredictable. If a session is cancelled due to weather, we will work with you to reschedule at a time that's convenient for you. On wet days when we can't climb, we try to offer wet alternatives such as Coasteering!
Coasteering & Climbing are physically demanding, and for open sessions, participants need to be at least 14 years old. However, we can arrange sessions for children aged 8-14 without issue, we just need you to get in touch first. We also require a minimum height of 138cm (4'6").
Jurassic Watersports is fully licensed by the HSE (AALA) to work with under-18s. For further details, please reach out to us directly.
