Coasteering & Climbing at Dancing Ledge | Swanage, Dorset

Spyway Carpark, Durnford Drove, Langton Matravers, Swanage BH19 3HG

Directions

Dancing Ledge, Swanage

Dancing Ledge and the nearby Headbury Quarry are two wave-cut platforms on the Swanage coast. If you’re joining us for Coasteering or Climbing in Dorset, this is where your adventure will start!

Getting There:

Turn down Durnford Drove and follow it to the end. At the end of the road, you’ll see a turning space and a small gravel track straight ahead. Follow the track past Langton House on your left to reach the National Trust Spyway Carpark at the end. If the grass overflow carpark is open, we recommend parking there. The carpark is pay and display. Meet your instructor in this carpark. Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your session start time.

Click the "Directions" button above and you'll get a map pin that brings you straight to us!

Please keep in mind this is an Adventurous Outdoor Activity, there are no Toilet or Changing facilities on site.

You will need to bring:

For Coasteering at Dancing Ledge:
  • Swimwear to wear under your Wetsuit
  • Trainers you don't mind getting wet. Please no crocs, flipflops or wetshoes as these are not appropriate and will fall off! (Without proper footwear, you will not be able to take part!)
  • Please remember to bring change for the car park
  • Towel/robe for discreet changing
We also recommend you bring the following:
  • Rash vest or t-shirt to wear under your wetsuit or for the walkdown
  • Warm clothing for after the session
  • Bottle of water
  • Suncream
  • We also recommend you have all long hair tied up and remove all rings.

If you are joining us for Climbing:
  • Comfortable clothing (nothing too baggy)
  • Quality shoes that won’t fall off (Trainers ideally. Crocks, Sliders and Flip flops are NOT Appropriate. Walking boots can be a good idea for the walk down, however can be tricky to climb in.)
We also recommend you bring the following:
  • Extra layers or waterproofs
  • Bottle of water
  • Please remember change for carpark
  • We also recommend you have all long hair tied up and remove all rings.
